  1. High-volume and low-price clubs.  These clubs are aimed towards those who are mainly focused on ease of access, basic equipment all at a lower price point.
  2. Mid-priced family clubs.  Centers like this are perfect for parents looking to get back into the gym with mature equipment and childcare services.
  3. High-end boutiques.  Advanced gym-goers or highly motivated individuals with serious fitness goals are looking for a high-end experience with the equipment and design they desire, even if it comes at a higher price.

What kind of club is my market missing?

Knowing the existing competitors and establishments in your market will help you create a club that is unlike any other in your area.  You wouldn’t want to simply build a new gym without first scoping out pre-existing clubs – you would be setting yourself up for failure.

Instead, find gaps in your market.  See where the potential lies in these gaps and capitalize on it.  If your market is highly saturated with high-volume and low-price clubs, consider shifting your focus towards creating a mid-priced or high-end fitness space.  By doing so, you are both mitigating your competition and capitalizing on consumer demand.

How many people would need to join to make me successful?
